The recent Government announcements regarding the roadmap out of lockdown has provided us with greater certainty regarding our plans for 2021 testing.
In 2021 we intend to deliver the UCAT in Pearson VUE test centres throughout the UK and internationally. Our two-hour computer-based test is designed to be delivered in a test centre environment, and we believe this offers the best and most secure experience for our candidates.
Information regarding the 2021 test can now be found on our website. Registration for UCAT 2021 opens on 2 June 2021 and booking opens on 28 June 2021.
Testing opens on 26 July, by which time we are confident that capacity across our test centre network will be sufficient to accommodate all candidates. We will continue to monitor the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic closely, both in the UK and internationally. We have contingency plans in place to support candidates testing in 2021 should the pandemic continue to impact on test centre availability.
The UCAT Consortium is committed to widening participation in medical and dental education. In 2020 almost 20% of test-takers received a UCAT Bursary to cover the full cost of the test. We will continue to offer bursaries to eligible candidates alongside free preparation materials to all test-takers to ensure that cost is not a barrier to sitting the test.
We would encourage all candidates to subscribe to our social media channels to receive any updates regarding 2021 testing.
