WHAT IS THE SJTACE?
Who should take the test?
The SJTace is an entry requirement for the Graduate Entry Medicine Programme (A101) at the Universities of St Andrews and Dundee for entry in academic year 2018/19.
Candidates who already intend to sit the 2017 UKCAT do not need to sit the SJTace. Their UKCAT result (which includes their SJT banding) will be communicated to all their university choices.
Candidates not taking the UKCAT are required to sit the SJTace by 3 October 2017 if they are intending to apply for entry in 2018 (or deferred entry in 2019) for the above programme. SJTace results cannot be carried over from one year to the next.
There are no general exemptions from the test. Candidates who believe they may be unable to sit the test in 2017 should see the Mitigating Circumstances information on our website.
You may only take the test once in any test cycle and any instances of multiple testing in the same year will be treated as an example of unprofessional behaviour.
Marking and Scoring
See the Marking and Scores section of this guide for information on how the SJTace is scored and results communicated to the University of St Andrews.
Further Information
The SJTace has identical content to the SJT subtest offered within the UKCAT and as such SJTace candidates should refer to the relevant parts of the Test Format section of this guide for further information.
SJTace candidates can also prepare using the SJT preparation materials and practice questions in the Preparation section of this guide and disregard the remaining subtests applicable only to UKCAT candidates.
The remaining sections of this guide, which include information on Registration and Booking, Test Fees, Key Dates, information for Candidates with Disabilities, and Test Day information are applicable to both the SJTace and the UKCAT test and should be read by all candidates.
