Alternative ID for Candidates Testing in the UK
If you are testing in the UK and cannot present one of the Permitted Photo ID, you can obtain a document confirming your identity from your school/college or university. The identity document must:
- be on headed paper.
- have a photograph attached (digital or physical) which is a true likeness.
- be signed by a head teacher or a senior member of staff.
- be signed by the candidate.
- bear the institution’s official stamp, which should cover part of the photograph. If the institution does not have a stamp, the signatory of the letter must sign their name over part of the photograph.
- include the following text:
"This document is to confirm the identity of our student [insert candidate name], date of birth [insert candidate date of birth], whose signature and photograph appears below, endorsed with our official stamp [that covers part of the photograph]."
Refer to this sample identity document.
