Rescheduling and Cancelling
Cancel a Test
You may cancel your test if you no longer need your appointment.
You must give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel your test, or your test fee will not be refunded.
Cancel online through your UCAT Account
If your appointment includes an arranged accommodation (e.g. testing in a separate room or permission to take in a coloured overlay) you cannot cancel online and must call Pearson VUE Customer Services. Please refer to the FAQ section below for further details.
Once booking closes (12 noon BST on 19 September) you need to phone Pearson VUE Customer Services (+44 (0) 208 616 5106) to cancel your test.
You still need to give the appropriate amount of notice, taking into account the helpline opening hours (Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 UK time). For example, if your test centre appointment is on a Monday at 10:00, in order to cancel (without losing your fee), you need to contact Pearson VUE Customer Services before 17:00 (UK time) on the preceding Friday.
You cannot cancel a test by email.
Refunds are normally completed within 5 working days but this is dependent on your card issuer.
If you used a bursary voucher to pay for your test you can re-use the same voucher code if you wish to rebook in the same year.
Reschedule a Test
You may reschedule your test appointment if you want to find a different date/time or change the test centre.
You cannot use the reschedule process to change from one test version to another (e.g. UCAT to UCATSEN). Please refer to the FAQ section below.
You must give at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule your test, or you will have to pay again (see missed tests).

IMPORTANT: Once you have selected a new appointment there are several more steps of the process to complete before the reschedule is confirmed. If you do not receive an email confirming your rescheduled test date, you have not completed all the necessary steps.

Rescheduling is subject to the availability of appointments. In some circumstances you may need to travel to another location if there are no available appointments at your preferred test location.
If you choose to book a late test date and then encounter issues which prevent you from attending your test appointment, you may not be able to reschedule within the testing window.
Missed Tests (No-shows)
If you miss the deadline to cancel or reschedule your test or you miss your test appointment for any reason you will not be eligible for a refund or a free reschedule. This applies in cases of:
- Illness, family emergency, accident, arrest, transport problems and security alert as well as forgetfulness and lateness.
- Arriving without photo identification or not presenting permitted ID.
- IT or technical issues.
- Failure to follow the correct steps to reschedule or cancel your test.
You may book another appointment (subject to availability) but the standard test fee will be charged again.
Candidates who used a bursary voucher to pay for their test will not be issued a further voucher to cover this cost.
You cannot book again until the status of your missed appointment changes to a ‘no-show’ state (usually within 24 hours).
If you choose to book a late test date and then miss your test appointment for any reason, you may not be able to reschedule within the testing window.
