UK results for entry to UK universities

UCAT 2024 results are only valid for the 2025 UCAS Admissions cycle (for entry into medical or dental school in 2025 or deferred entry to 2026).

You will have your test result before the UCAS deadline so please ensure you use this to help inform your UCAS choices, otherwise you might be wasting an application.

Find out how UK universities use the UCAT

UCAT will deliver your result directly to your chosen UK universities in early November.

Universities will only accept results provided directly by the UCAT Office.

You do not need to pass your test result to your university choices or include it on your UCAS application.

After the 15 October application deadline, UCAT works with UCAS on a data matching exercise to obtain your application choices that require a UCAT result. You do not need to tell us your UCAS PID or application choices as we obtain this data directly from UCAS.

The data passed from UCAT to UK universities are personal identifiers (name, date of birth and UCAS PID) and test result data.

Universities are also informed if a candidate redeemed a bursary voucher.  Some universities use this as a contextual flag.

On occasion, if a candidate's UCAT registration data is not identical to their UCAS application data we are unable to obtain their university choices.

However, all UCAT Universities have access to a database containing all results.  If you are contacted by your university because they do not have your result, please provide them with your candidate ID (in the format UKCAT + 6 digits).  They will then be able to find your result in the database.

We are sorry but due to the volume of candidates that test each year we cannot confirm individually whether we have the correct UCAS PID or university choices for you.

UCAT results are not passed to any universities outside the Consortium.

UCAT results for entry to partner universities

Partner universities provide detailed information on their websites regarding the validity of UCAT results.

During registration candidates select the partner universities they are intending to apply to which allows UCAT to share their results with these universities.

On occasion, a partner university may need to request an applicant’s UCAT result directly from the UCAT Office or look them up in the results database. Universities may ask candidates to provide their score report or candidate ID (in the format UKCAT + 6 digits) so they are able to find their result.

The data passed from UCAT to partner universities are personal identifiers (name, date of birth and UCAS PID) and test result data.

International universities will only accept results provided directly by the UCAT Office.
