UCAT Test Centre Exam Rules

During the check-in process you will be asked to read these exam rules and sign to confirm you understand them.

Please read these rules carefully as they explain what to do if you have any issues during testing.

  • In attending to test you are declaring yourself fit to test. If you are not fit you must reschedule your test. If you choose to test against this advice, UCAT will not accept this as a mitigating circumstance.

  • If you become ill, raise your hand to notify the invigilator. If you are not well enough to continue, ask them to end your test. You then need to contact the UCAT Office as soon as possible. If you choose to continue, UCAT will not accept this as a mitigating circumstance.

  • If you need a break (e.g. to take medication or to use the toilets), raise your hand to notify the invigilator. The test cannot be paused and you will lose time when out of the test room. You are advised to take any breaks between subtests to limit impact on test time.

  • If you experience hardware/software problems, noise disturbance or other distractions, raise your hand to notify the invigilator immediately. If you do not raise the issue during your test, UCAT will not accept this as a mitigating circumstance. The invigilator cannot answer questions about test content.

  • If an issue affects your test, make sure you obtain an incident case number before you leave the test centre. You should then refer to the Test Incident page on the UCAT website.

  • There may be limited disturbance as test takers arrive and leave or staff assist other candidates. You may request earplugs to block out noise.

  • You will be given a set of laminated noteboards and a pen. If you require additional sets, raise your hand.

  • Making noise that may disturb other test takers (including reading aloud), is prohibited.

  • You may not share or discuss the questions or answers from your test with others.

  • After completing the test, raise your hand. The invigilator will end your test and escort you from the room to collect your printed score report.

  • No personal belongings are allowed in the test room.

  • To ensure a high level of security, you will be monitored at all times using CCTV.

  • You may only test once in any test cycle. Instances of multiple testing in the same cycle will be treated as misconduct.

  • Individuals with an affiliation with a UCAT coaching business are not eligible to sit the UCAT.
