Test Statistics 2025

To help you make your university choices, you may want to understand how your test result relates to overall candidate performance. You may also be interested to know how your score compares with those used by universities in previous years.

Mean scores can shift between testing years and so direct comparison is not always possible. The information below provides you with decile distributions.

In 2025, Abstract Reasoning has been withdrawn from the test.

2025 Preliminary Test Scores

The following data is valid up to the 14 September 2025 based on 21,882 tests taken.

We are anticipating that a further 21,000 candidates will take the test; as a result the following scores should be treated with significant caution. Candidates should use these figures as a rough guide to judge their own performance as these numbers will change as the testing cycle progresses.

As an example, the 2024 preliminary mean score (without Abstract Reasoning) was 1913 and the final mean score (without Abstract Reasoning) was 1870.

Mean Total Score

The preliminary total cognitive mean scaled score is 1939.

The preliminary mean scaled scores of the cognitive subtests are below:

Verbal Reasoning 614
Decision Making 642
Quantitative Reasoning 683

The scaled score range for each cognitive subtest is 300 - 900.

Decile Ranking

The following table provides deciles of candidate total scores. Each decile rank represents 10% of candidates based on their overall test performance. The 1st decile represents a score at the 10th percentile; the 2nd decile represents a score at the 20th percentile, and so on.
