OnVUE UCAT Photo ID Policy

You are required to present a valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID as part of the OnVUE online proctored UCAT (OnVUE UCAT) check-in process or you will not be permitted to test.

The name on your ID must exactly match the name you registered in your web account (and in your appointment confirmation email), otherwise your ID will not be accepted.  If your name does not match, you must email Pearson VUE Customer Services at least 5 working days before your appointment in order for this to be addressed. You must upload a photo of your ID to verify your request.

Only certain forms of ID are permitted.  IDs must be in their original form (not a photocopy).

Acceptable forms of ID include:

  • Passport
  • Photo-card driver’s licence (full or provisional)
  • Identification card (national/state or province ID card)
  • Government-issued local language ID (not in roman characters and accepted only if issued by the country in which you are testing)
  • Registration card (green card or permanent residence/visa)
  • Non-US Military ID (including spouse and dependants)

Candidates under the age of 18 are permitted to present a valid student ID (that includes full name and recognisable photo) as a form of ID, if they are testing with their parent/guardian's permission (see below).

Unacceptable forms of ID:

  • Aadhaar Cards
  • IDs from countries where OnVUE delivery is restricted: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, the Syrian Arab Republic (Syria), Russia, Belarus and regions of Ukraine (Donetsk, Luhansk, Sevastopol, Crimea).
  • ID's prohibited by law from being photocopied, digitised, or captured on camera are not accepted.

Candidates who cannot meet the OnVUE Photo ID Policy

Candidates who cannot meet the permitted OnVUE UCAT photo ID policy should check whether they could meet the ID requirements to test at a test centre.

If you start your OnVUE UCAT without the correct photo ID, you will not be allowed to test.  You will need to reschedule your test; as long as you do this up to 15 minutes after your appointment time, you will not be charged again.  It may be difficult to reschedule towards the end of testing when the availability of test slots is limited.

Under 18 candidates sitting the OnVUE UCAT

If you are under 18, you are only allowed to sit the OnVUE UCAT with your parent/guardian’s permission.  This is because minors are not legally allowed to consent to being recorded by a third party (Pearson VUE).

Your parent/guardian must be present at the start of your test during the check-in process to give their consent. They must also present a valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID from the list below; no other form of ID is permitted.  IDs must be in their original form (not a photocopy).

Parental/guardian ID's from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, the Syrian Arab Republic (Syria), Russia, Belarus and regions of Ukraine (Donetsk, Luhansk, Sevastopol, Crimea) are not accepted. Additionally, an Aadhaar Card is not accepted as ID.

If you start your OnVUE UCAT and your parent/guardian is not present or they do not have the correct ID, you will not be allowed to test. You will need to reschedule your test; as long as you do this up to 15 minutes after your appointment time, you will not be charged again. It may be difficult to reschedule towards the end of testing when the availability of test slots is limited.
