UCAT Test Rules
During the check-in process you will be asked to read this information carefully before entering the test room. You will be asked to sign to confirm you understand the information provided and agree to follow the rules.
Candidates experiencing mitigating circumstances before their test should refer to this advice.
Test Rules:
-
In attending to test you are declaring you are fit to test. If you are not fit to test due to illness/injury or personal circumstances that may affect your test performance, you must not proceed with your test. You should contact the UCAT Office as soon as possible for advice and support with testing. If you choose to test against this advice, UCAT will not normally take action.
-
You may only test once in any year; multiple testing will be treated as misconduct.
-
Making noise that may disturb other test takers (including reading aloud), is prohibited.
-
You must not take unauthorised items into the test room. Unauthorised items must be stored in the designated area; all electronic devices must be turned off before they are stored.
-
You must not share or discuss test content with others.
Problems during testing:
-
If you become unwell during your test please raise your hand immediately to notify the invigilator. If continuing would affect your test performance, you should ask to end your test. Staff cannot make this decision for you. You must then contact the UCAT Office as soon as possible to arrange a new test booking. If you choose to continue testing, UCAT will not normally take any action.
-
If you experience hardware/software problems, excessive noise disturbance or other distractions, please raise your hand immediately to inform the invigilator so the problem can be addressed and the incident recorded. If a problem is not reported during your test, UCAT will not normally take any action. The invigilator cannot answer questions about test content.
-
If a problem affects your test, make sure you obtain an incident case number before you leave the test centre. You should then refer to the Test Incident page on the UCAT website.
General test information:
-
For purposes of security, you will be monitored at all times; both audio and video may be recorded.
-
Under normal test centre conditions there may be limited disturbance as other test takers arrive and leave or staff assist them. You may request earplugs to block out noise.
-
You will be given a laminated notebook and a pen. If you require a replacement during your test, hold the item in the air to request one.
-
If you need to leave the test room (e.g. to use the toilets), raise your hand to notify the invigilator. Unless you have been approved for rest breaks, the test cannot be paused and you will lose time when out of the room. Try and take breaks between subtests to limit impact on test time.
-
After completing the test, raise your hand. The invigilator will end your test and escort you from the room to collect your score report.
