Advice for supporting students

When should I talk to my students about the UCAT?
Students need to sit the test over the summer period before the UCAS application deadline of 15 October.
We recommend schools and colleges inform students who may be considering applying to Medicine or Dentistry, well before the end of Year 12 (England & Wales) or S5 (Scotland)/Year 13 (Northern Ireland) so that they have sufficient time to prepare for and sit the UCAT before returning to school in September and completing their UCAS application.
What materials are available to help me advise my students?
Schools and colleges can use our free resources to give their students an overview of the UCAT.
Please direct your students to the UCAT Essentials page which covers all the important steps in completing their UCAT journey.
Students should use the official free preparation materials to prepare for the test.
