About the UCAT Consortium

20 years' experience in medical and dental admissions testing

In response to the need for a more effective way to select applicants to medicine and dentistry programmes, a consortium of leading UK medical and dental schools came together to develop an admissions test:

The UCAT assesses key mental abilities, attitudes and professional behaviours needed for success as medical or dental students. It provides an efficient, reliable and valid way to differentiate between large numbers of similar candidates.

Today, over 50 Consortium and partner universities use the UCAT to support the selection of applicants to their medical and dental schools.
