Registration dates will be confirmed on the UCAT 2022 page in due course. We do not make exceptions to these deadlines.
Registration for the UCAT is a two-step process of registering an account and booking a test, using the Pearson VUE registration system. Multiple accounts are not permitted.
Register for a Pearson VUE Account
New candidates must register for a Pearson VUE account before they can book a test. Returning candidates should use their existing account.
It can take up to 1 business day for Pearson VUE to set up your account. Delays to account registration will not be accepted as a mitigating circumstance for missing the booking deadline.
Register with your legal name exactly as it appears on the photo ID you intend to present when your test. If there is not an exact match, you may be unable to test and may lose your test fee. If you need to change the name on your account please refer to the Photo ID Policy.
After creating your account you will receive an email from Pearson VUE containing your username for your records. You can log in to your account using the username and password you set up during registration.
You are assigned a UCAT candidate ID (in the format UKCAT123456) after registering your account. You can find your candidate ID in the left corner of your account. It should be used in all correspondence with Pearson VUE and the UCAT Office.
Occasionally account details have to be validated before you can complete the account registration process. You may need to wait (up to 1 business day) for an email from Pearson VUE with additional instructions. If this email has not arrived after 24 hours (and is not in your spam folder) please contact Pearson VUE Customer Services.
Book a Test Appointment
You should book your test through your Pearson VUE account. It is your responsibility to ensure your booking is made successfully in advance of the booking deadline (TBC).
Claims of mitigating circumstances or technical errors affecting your ability to book by the deadline will not be accepted.
2022 test fees will be confirmed shortly.
The test fee is payable at the time of booking by major debit/credit card:
Tests taken in the UK: £ tbc Tests taken outside the UK: £ tbc
UK candidates in financial need can apply for a UCAT Bursary Voucher to pay for their test
You are strongly recommended to book a test date early in the testing period. If you choose to book a late test date and then encounter illness or other issues which prevent you from attending your test appointment you may not be able to reschedule within the test period.
You should book the standard UCAT unless you are eligible for extra time in public exams.
Candidates with special educational needs, disabilities or medical conditions who are eligible for extra time or accommodations must apply for Access Arrangements before booking their test.
Once you have scheduled a test, you will be sent a confirmation email that includes important details about your appointment. Please keep this email safe.
You may only take the test once in any test window. Any instances of multiple testing in the same year will be treated as misconduct and all results withdrawn.
We recommend you book as early as possible. Once booking opens, the best way to check availability is through your Pearson VUE account.
There will be fewer test dates to select from later in the booking window and you may have to travel some distance to a test centre. Appointments may become available as other candidates cancel or reschedule their test date.
Rescheduling or cancelling your test appointment
You can cancel or reschedule your test appointment as long as you give the appropriate amount of notice. Please refer to the reschedule and cancellation policy for further details.
Making changes to your booking
You will need to cancel your existing appointment in order to book a different version of the test (e.g. changing from UCAT to UCATSEN). Note: the date, time and location of your new appointment may have to change depending on availability at the time.
Getting ready for your test
These are all important steps to ensure your test day is successful. All candidates are expected to familiarise themselves with this information so they know what to expect on their test day and what to do if there is a problem before or during their test.
